It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, a true patriot and disciplined leader who dedicated his life to the service of our great nation.
Former President Buhari was a man of immense character and unwavering integrity. His commitment to fighting corruption, advancing national security, and strengthening Nigeria’s infrastructure and agricultural base has left an indelible mark on our history.
Even after his time in office, he remained a revered elder statesman — always ready to offer wisdom and guidance when called upon. His deep love for Nigeria was evident in every decision he made and every action he took.
On behalf of the government and the people of Edo State, I extend my deepest condolences to the Buhari family, the government and people of Katsina State, and all Nigerians.
May the soul of our departed leader rest in perfect peace, and may God grant his loved ones the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.
