Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, en route to Ogun State, where he will officially open the 22nd National Sports Festival, "Gateway Games Ogun 2024," later today.
The Vice President will preside over the opening ceremony in Abeokuta, marking the start of Nigeria's foremost multi-sport event which will feature over 10,000 athletes competing in 33 sports across the state.
The two-week festival brings together competitors from all 36 states, the Federal Capital Territory, and for the first time, a special "38th state" team of invited junior athletes showcasing Nigeria's emerging sports talents.
He is joined by the member representing Kaga/Gubio/Magumeri Federal Constituency/ Chairman of the House Committee on North East Development Commission (NEDC), Hon Usman Ali Zannah and Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
